Helping you cope with cancer & move forward
Hi, I’m Vita! After much consideration, I decided to share my cancer battle experience in part as a way of my healing process, in search of making sense to a life changing event, but mostly helping others faced with a similar experience…
My Story
At 37 years old, I was diagnosed with stage II breast cancer (invasive ductal carcinoma, ES/PR positive) that spread into my lymph nodes. It was the most fearful, emotionally and physically grueling time of my life that changed mine and my family’s life for good, yet an unearthing experience forcing me to reassess how I want to live the rest of my life if given a second chance.
I have always been a reserved person by nature. Breast cancer is a very personal experience but after much consideration and support from other cancer fighters and survivors, I decided to use this as an outlet to connect with other survivors, caregivers and those that are looking for support and hope.
Thank you for being here.
My Values & Beliefs
Everyone's cancer experience is unique
We are all in different stages of life. I cannot say that I know it all or that my advice will heal you but I hope that you will find some of my tips useful that come from my own personal experience.
Isaiah 40:31
There is something good that comes out of something bad, and I believe I understand that now. My faith in God is leading me in a direction to something greater than what I had before cancer.
I don't belong to my past
I’m grateful for my past experience even when it was painful for the lessons it taught me but I’m ready for the future, ready to move forward. I’m working to make nutrition, fitness and mental health a priority, being curious about progress on cancer research, and exploring new ways on improving my well being and quality of life, as well as teaching my kids adopt healthy habits from childhood.
Just remember, you are blessed beyond measure. Every day is a day you should treasure.
